How to choose a strong light flashlight, what problems should be paid attention to when purchasing? Bright flashlights are divided into hiking, camping, night riding, fishing, diving, and patrolling according to different outdoor usage scenarios. The points will be different according to their respective needs.
1. Bright flashlight lumen selection
Lumen is the most important parameter of a glare flashlight. Generally speaking, the larger the number, the greater the brightness per unit area. The specific brightness of a glare flashlight is determined by the LED lamp beads. Different scenarios have different requirements for lumens. Don’t deliberately pursue high lumens. The naked eye cannot distinguish it. You can only see whether the flashlight is on or not by looking at the brightness of the center spot of the led flashlight.
2. Light source distribution of glare flashlight
Strong light flashlights are divided into floodlight and spotlight according to different light sources. Briefly talk about their differences:
Floodlight strong light flashlight: the central spot is strong, the light in the floodlight area is weak, the range of seeing is large, not dazzling, and the light is scattered. It is recommended to choose the floodlight type for outdoor hiking and camping.
Concentrating strong light flashlight: the central spot is small and round, the light in the flood area is weak, the long-range effect is good, and it will be dazzling when used at close range. The spotlight type is recommended for night patrols.
3. Bright flashlight battery life
According to different gears, the battery life is completely different. The low gear has a long lumen battery life, and the high gear has a short lumen battery life.
The battery capacity is only that big, the higher the gear, the stronger the brightness, the more electricity will be used, and the battery life will be shorter. The lower the gear, the lower the luminosity, the less electricity will be used, and of course the battery life will be longer.
Many merchants advertise how many days the battery life can reach, and most of them use the lowest lumens, and the continuous lumens cannot reach this battery life.
4. Bright flashlights are divided into lithium-ion batteries and lithium batteries:
Lithium-ion batteries: 16340, 14500, 18650, and 26650 are common lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, environmentally friendly batteries, and easy to use. The first two digits indicate the diameter of the battery, the third and fourth digits indicate the length of the battery in mm, and the last 0 indicates that the battery is a cylindrical battery.
Lithium battery (CR123A): The lithium battery has strong battery life, long storage time, and is not rechargeable. It is suitable for people who do not often use strong flashlights.
At present, the battery capacity on the market is one 18650 capacity. In special cases, it can be replaced by two CR123A lithium batteries.
5. The gear of the strong flashlight
Except for night riding, most of the strong light flashlights have multiple gears, which can be convenient for different outdoor environments, especially for outdoor adventures. It is recommended to have a flashlight with a strobe function and an SOS signal function.
Strobe function: Flashing at a relatively fast frequency, it will dazzle your eyes if you look directly at it, and has self-defense function
SOS distress signal function: The international general distress signal is SOS, which appears as three long and three short in the strong light flashlight and continuously circulates
6. Strong flashlight waterproof ability
At present, most glare flashlights are waterproof, and those without the IPX mark are basically waterproof for daily use (the kind of water that is occasionally splashed)
IPX6: Can’t go into the water, but it won’t hurt the flashlight if it is splashed by water
IPX7: 1 meter away from the water surface and continuous lighting for 30 minutes, will not affect the performance of the flashlight
IPX8: 2 meters away from the water surface and continuous lighting for 60 minutes, will not affect the performance of the flashlight.
